MESSRS LAW CHAMBER OF VINSA & IAN (“VSI”) was established in 2019 by Saravanan Krishnan, N.G Vinod, Sathiesh K Purushothaman & Mohamad Sofian Shamsudin who had been colleagues at their previous firm. Collectively, the four founding partners of VSI have been actively  practicing the challenging areas of litigation and conveyancing for over 25 years, with many successful testimonies

  • N.G Vinod, and Wong Cha Hwa represented a joint class action at the High Court of Johor Bahru against an international leading property developer in Mainland China for unlawful unilateral amendment to the development order.
  • Sathiesh rendered his advice to a major global news organization broadcaster in Doha, Qatar for its documentary title “Malaysia: The World Biggest Heist”
  • Sofian Shamsudin defended an Association of Trustee in RM200,000.00 gratuity payment suit at the Sessions Court of Kuala Lumpur
  • N.G Vinod and Sofian Shamsudin defended a client in the contempt proceeding at the Court of Appeal, Putrajaya. The case has been reported in the law journal as Teo Cheng Hua v Ker Min Cho & Ors [2015] 5 MLJ 365
  • Sofian Shamsudin and N.G Vinod represented a director of a company, and a minority shareholder for a derivative action at the High Court of Johor Bahru. The case has been reported in the law journal as Ong Keng Huat v Fortune Frontier (M) Sdn Bhd [2015] 11 MLJ 604
  • N.G Vinod and Sofian Shamsudin defended a company involved in a fraudulent land transaction suit at the High Court of Kuala Lumpur. The case has been reported in the law journal as Pembangunan Orkid Desa Sdn Bhd v Liputan Simfoni Sdn Bhd [2016] 1 CLJ 664
  • Sofian Shamsudin successfully represented his client in a medical negligence suit against Government of Malaysia at the Sessions Court of Shah Alam
  • N.G Vinod represented few financial institutions in the banking litigation cases. The reported cases by N.G Vinod in relation to the banking litigation is as follows:- CIMB Bank Berhad v Muthusamy a/l Sinnakaundan [2012] MLJU 450, Bahanurdin Bin Wahad v CIMB Bank Berhad [2011] MLJU 337, Malayan Bank Berhad v Kee Swee Kian [2011] MLJU 884
  • Sofian Shamsudin has been appointed as counsel by a law firm in Johor Bahru to represent its client in a claim for breach of fiduciary duty of a stakeholder by a senior member of the Bar. Sofian Shamsudin has successfully led a team of solicitors on record as its main counsel at the trial stage. The case has been reported in the law journal as Shenzen Heg Import and Export Co v Ong Bang Chai [2018] MLJU 379
  • Sofian Shamsudin represented an international client from Iraq in a suit filed against one of Malaysia’s largest listed integrated pharmaceutical group. The claim that has been filed at the High Court of Kuala Lumpur was in relation to the dispute of sum USD5,500,000.00 for a consultancy fee of a construction project of Al-Hindaya Hospital in Iraq.
  • Sofian Shamsudin represented one of the subsidiaries company of a property development company listed in Bursa Malaysia Berhad, the dispute in relation to its shareholder and directors. The case has been reported in the law journal as Datuk Kasi Palaniappan & Anor v Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd [2018] MLJU 1259

Mr. Alvin Chong has extensively been involved as corporate legal counsel for major corporate advisory work such as conduct of due diligence for listing exercises, restructuring, merger and acquisition, capital rising transactions and other corporate advisory services.

Mr. Chong has appeared in all Courts, up to the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court. He was also appointed as a counsel to assist in a multimillion arbitration matter involving Sarawak State Corporation.  He was further appointed by the State Attorney General of Sarawak as a legal counsel to act for and on behalf of the State Government of Sarawak to undertake a number of vigorously contested civil litigation matters.
